Taq polymerase is a thermostable DNA polymerase named after the thermophilic Thermus aquaticus bacteria which was isolated by Chien et al. in 1976. The Cape Floral Kingdom isolated Taq polymerase has evolved in nature, rendering it distinctive DNA sequence that also enables it to be a fast, robust and high processivity enzyme in the market. Due to its sequence divergences and certain patches within its sequences, it also incorporates less errors (10 fold) during PCR when compared to other Taq polymerases. A reproducible PCR product of over 1000 ng (while competitors’ products achieve less than 1000 ng of product) can be achieved within one (1) hour, based on protocol provided with the PCR kit

Description

TAq DNA polymerase is a highly thermostable DNA polymerase from the thermophilic bacterium called Thermus aquaticus. The enzyme catalyzes 5′ to 3′ synthesis of DNA, wildtype enzymes normally have no recorded 3′ to 5′ exonuclease activity. However, the CapeSprint Taq DNA polymerase has been tested to exhibit a low error rate as compared to other Taq polymerase on the market.  Therefore, it demonstrates a rare and 3′ to 5′ exonuclease activity, making it unique among other Taq polymerase variants.
